Los Angeles singer Emma Ruth Rundle really knows how to brew up a tempest of emotions with new single 'Marked For Death'. A dramatic odyssey all about the pain of loss and doomed relationships, there is something fearless about her music as she dissects and analyses her own experiences for the listener. It is painfully brittle too though, with vulnerability pitching and heaving in between the swathes of yearning strings, distorted guitars and crashing percussion. Her album of the same name is due for release in September via Sargent House, and if this is anything to go by, PJ Harvey best watch out. - SJ
